It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Summer

That’s right, it’s nearly summertime and traditionally summer is the worst season for back injuries.  With everyone getting back outside to garden, play recreational sports, or even just go on a few walks, your body hasn’t been so active in months.  The fatigue and stress this places on your body can lead to numerous problems and injuries. Chiropractic can help you recover from these problems more quickly and can also help to prevent these problems from occurring.

Sand VolleyballLower back and neck injuries commonly occur during yard work, housework and do-it-yourself projects. A lot of these types of injuries could be avoided with proper form and stretching beforehand.  Don’t forget to ask for help if something is too heavy.  You may be worried about your pride, but it’ll be even more embarrassing when you’re stuck in bed with a bad back.

If you’re playing any sports this summer keep in mind the old axiom, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.   Golf, tennis, volleyball, racquetball and softball are just a few of the summertime sports that can lead to back injuries if you’re not careful and prepared.  Simply taking 15 minutes to warm-up and stretch before the game will help reduce your risk of injury immensely. Remember that you might not be in the same shape you were in at the end of last summer. Give your body time to adjust to being active again and adjust your routine accordingly.

Summer is supposed to be a season of adventure and activity, so don’t let back pain ruin yours! If you’re currently experiencing any pain, set up an appointment so you can get back out there while the sun is still high in the sky.
